Two agents
Leroy’s heart sank as the door to the interrogation room opened, and two men in black suits walked in. He could feel his nerves rising, uncertain of what these men wanted from him. The agents introduced themselves as Geoth and Smith, their voices low and serious as they sat across from him. Leroy couldn’t help but feel intimidated by their presence, wondering what they could possibly want with a homeless man like him. But before he could ask any questions, Geoth spoke up, his voice cold and businesslike.
“Mr. Leroy, we’re here to ask you some questions about the money you found in the trash,” he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Leroy’s confusion deepened at this statement. “Money? What money?” he asked, his voice trembling slightly.
Geoth and Smith exchanged a look before Geoth spoke again. “The money, Leroy. The bag of cash you found in the garbage can. We know all about it, and we want to know where it came from.”
Leroy felt his heart skip a beat as the reality of the situation sank in. These agents were here to question him about the very thing that had landed him in this mess in the first place. He felt a lump rise in his throat as he struggled to find the right words. “I…I don’t know anything about where the money came from. I just found it in the trash,” he stammered.
But the agents didn’t seem convinced. Their eyes bore into him with a steely intensity, and Leroy couldn’t help but feel like he was being interrogated rather than questioned. He knew that he was in deep trouble, and he didn’t know how he was going to get out of it.
