A Uvula That’s Split in Two

This one is usually inherited, and it’s called a split uvula. It’s basically exactly what it sounds like; a uvula that is divided into two distinct parts, resembling a ‘V’ shape. It’s not harmful or anything, and it’d be quite difficult to spot even if you did have one. It’d take a lot of careful inspection in the mirror to be able to identify it. It’s estimated that around 2% of the population has one, making it a relatively rare condition.

We just wonder if this has any effect on their voice or how loud they can yell. It’s possible that the split uvula could affect the way sound is produced, as the uvula is an important part of the vocal tract. It’s also possible that the split uvula could affect the way air is expelled from the mouth, which could in turn affect the volume of sound produced.
