Her World
Her dad had been her world, and she would give anything to be by his side. But when she received the call about his sudden passing, she knew nothing would ever be the same. She felt an overwhelming sadness that seemed to consume her entire being. She was filled with regret for all the things she had never said and all the moments she had taken for granted. She wished she had told him how much she loved him one last time. Or that she hugged him and thanked him for all he had done for her. She wished she had taken the time to make more memories with him. She wished she had been able to say goodbye. She had not been able to tell him how much he meant to her, and now she regretted it.
Her brothers and sisters kicked her out of their childhood home immediately. They laughed that out of their dad’s will, she’d only come out with the old family barn. They refused to give her any of the family heirlooms, not even the old quilt their grandmother had made. They refused to help her financially, leaving her to fend for herself. It was all very cruel, and only added injury to her already hurting heart. Not only did she lose the most important person in her life, she also lost her family. She could not understand how her own siblings could be so unfair to her, and at this point in their lives too. If only they knew what their dad was planning.
